Arsenal Club officials announced that club youth coaches Steve Gardin and Karl Lauraman were suspended for allegedly bullying young players.
It is reported that as many as 20 small player complaints have been bullied by the two youth coaches, Arsenal Club has already formally investigated the matter. On Friday, an Arsenal spokesperson confirmed the matter. The media disclosed that the club had made this decision as early as two weeks ago.
As part of the club's investigation, both the coach's official phone (Arsenal's phone) and the laptop have been confiscated. Arsenal will then ask different players and other coaches for more details and evidence. It is reported that 58-year-old Gatine and 56-year-old Laraman's accident caused many Arsenal employees to be surprised.
Arsenal’s official statement reads: “We have stopped the work of the two coaches and started the investigation after receiving the complaints from the players. This is a private event and we will not announce more details.”
It is reported that the coaches of the two coaches used bullying as their language. However, the age of the bullied players was not announced. However, Arsenal must report to the English Premier League and the FA. Laraman and Gatin originally had to lead Arsenal U23 to participate in the Premier League International Cup match with Porto on Thursday, but then U18 coach Ampado led the team.
Gatin is the brother of Mike, a former England cricket player. He has been a player for the Gunners for five years since 1977, then moved to Brighton and was defeated by Manchester United in the 1983 FA Cup final. Laraman joined Arsenal from Charlton in 2010 and began coaching Arsenal U9 until the U13 junior team. He was then promoted to coach U18 and U23.
Undoubtedly, this scandal also casts a shadow over Wenger's last Premier League game on Sunday.
